CNN calls Rehavam Ze'evi 'controversial'
Ever the apologists for Israeli extremists, CNN is labeling Rehavam Ze'evi a 'controversial' figure who wanted to 'transfer' the Palestinians. They called his assassination 'cold blooded' murder.
Here is another picture of Rehavam Ze'evi from the The Daily Telegraph (10/18/2001) of Britain (www.Telegraph.co.uk):
Ze'evi's inflammatory rhetoric appalled moderates on both sides. Of the 180,000 Palestinians residing in Israel illegally he once said: "We should get rid of the ones who are not Israeli citizens the same way you get rid of lice." He also claimed that the Kingdom of Jordan should by rights belong to Israel: "It's ours historically. Three of the tribes of Israel - Gad, Reuven, and Menashe - lived in what is now Jordan."No one was immune from his barbs. He once called President George Bush a "liar" and "anti-Semite" for putting pressure on Israel to stop expanding its settlements in the West Bank. At the memorial service for the former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, he insulted the American Ambassador to Israel, Martin Indyk, by calling him a "yehudon" ("Jew boy" in Hebrew), apparently because the ambassador was urging Israel to make concessions in talks with the Palestinians. "The last time someone called me a Jew boy." the ambassador replied, "I was 15 years old and he got a punch in the face." "Try me," snapped Ze'evi, "you are a Jew boy." "You are a disgrace to the state of Israel," replied Indyk. "And you," responded Ze'evi "are a son of a bitch."
