The CIA Is America's First Party

Dear Mr. Amr:
Your article, "The
Israeli Lobby is America's Third Party", is a potent,
well-argued analysis. Its only shortcoming is that it does not complete the
circle. It omits mention of the deeper background, the rules of the field upon
which AIPAC and the Zionist thugs play their vicious game to control the public
aspects of U.S. Middle East policy and media coverage.
It has become clear to most of us searching for the true wellsprings of
post-WWII American history that the reach of the CIA has been grossly
underestimated, or, rather, under-reported, by almost everyone. A deep study of
any one major CIA operation makes clear the awesome ability of the Agency to
completely control the major media outlets and obfuscate the Agency's
overwhelming role in American foreign, and often domestic, policy. For decades
now, most of America's leading editors and pundits have been either CIA assets
or "under control".
Take your pick. Look into any one of the major domestic assassinations of the
1960's (JFK, probably Martin Luther King, RFK). Pick up any thread in the bloody
skein of American "policy" in Latin America (right up through the April coup in
Venezuela). Follow the ramp up to, and execution of, the Vietnam War (e.g.
Operation Phoenix, a CIA op that "interrogated" at least 20,000 Vietnamese to
death, one by one). Study the decimated civic lives of nations used by the
Agency in its control, since at least 1960, of the majority of the world's hard
drug trade. Consider the CIA domination of American activity in Central Asia. A
thorough study of any of these, or of any other major CIA crime, will turn up
the same pattern. Namely, a deafening media silence. And, whenever the silence
is deemed insufficiently complete, you'll find a web of disinformation so thick
that only the most dedicated searchers for truth can hack their way through it.
Recall the four-part story Fox News ran mid-December, 2001? Immediately after
the story aired, its transcript disappeared from Fox's Web site. The network has
steadfastly declined to comment ever since. However, it is still available
elsewhere - see http://www.firefox.1accesshost.com/cameron.html
An excerpt: "Numerous classified documents obtained by Fox News indicate that
even prior to September 11, as many as 140 other Israelis had been detained or
arrested in a secretive and sprawling investigation into suspected espionage by
Israelis in the United States." They were Mossad agents. "..investigators
suspect that they Israelis may have gathered intelligence about the attacks in
advance, and not shared it. A highly placed investigator said there are - quote
- "tie-ins." But when asked for details, he flatly refused to describe them,
saying, - quote - "evidence linking these Israelis to 9-11 is classified."
Disinformation has been applied since, and probably ripples through the Fox
story itself. We are told that Mossad spies "against" the United States, and the
CIA has been "warned". For instance, the Fox story related:
"Most directory assistance calls, and virtually all call records and billing in
the U.S. are done for the phone companies by Amdocs, Ltd, an Israeli-based
private telecommunications company....Fox News has learned that the N.S.A has
held numerous classified conferences to warn the F.B.I. and C.I.A. how Amdocs
records could be used."
What we are not told, of course, is how deeply related Mossad and the CIA really
are. Throughout 42 years of Cold War, Israel was the linchpin of U.S. Middle
East policy. Can anyone imagine an "intelligence" connection more dangerous to
investigate? The border between CIA and Mossad is probably more like a sieve,
with greater access and cooperation than the FBI will ever have. Obviously,
there is still competition, and turf wars erupt from time to time. Think of the
Army-Navy game.
You ask, "Why is our Congress investigating the CIA, the FBI and the INS, when
the real focus should be on the State Department and a catastrophic foreign
policy that amounted to the appeasement of a belligerent foreign state run by
war criminals?"
I agree that U.S. policies comprise the real danger to America, Palestine, and
the world itself, not our intelligence "failures". But your question presupposes
that the State Department really calls the shots on American Middle East policy.
My reading of the Bush, Clinton, Bush, Reagan, and Carter administrations is
that State has consistently taken a back seat to the NSA/CIA/Tripartite axis. We
could say the same of Nixon, except that Kissinger happened to be Secretary of
State. Certainly CIA ran much of Johnson's foreign policy execution (four days
after Kennedy was killed, Johnson reactivated the CIA mission in Vietnam). The
present-day disaster is that Colin Powell and his staff at State are considered
to supply the "moderate, pro-Arab" voice. And even they can be brushed aside at
will, as Bush has repeatedly shown.
President Kennedy was killed because he planned to disassemble the CIA. If we
want to get to the bottom of America's persistent pursuit of "a catastrophic
foreign policy that amount[s] to the appeasement of a belligerent foreign state
run by war criminals", we must first recognize that our own foreign policy is
run by criminals, to whom robbery, rape, extortion and drug dealing are on a par
with genocide.
Congress should be investigating the CIA. But the chance of a meaningful
investigation, which would certainly result in numerous mysterious deaths, is
vanishingly small. What we will get is more disinformation, spinning
understandable tales of human incompetence, "over-regulation" of our brave
public servants, and so on ad nauseum. Every Congressional investigation of CIA
to date has been fatally compromised by CIA itself. It's all in the record, but
no-one dares to point it out. The Agency's control is so complete that it
willingly disparages its own operations in order to throw the public off its
trail. CIA may actually welcome the current investigation; in this environment,
it could be an excellent opportunity to have yet more power assigned to Agency,
"so it can do its job more effectively".
The CIA is America's first party. Republicans and Democrats, at the highest
levels, are selected for their willingness to keep its semi-public secrets. The
rest are allowed to dance to its tune. American politicians learn to fear the
Israeli lobby's threat to their reputations - and the CIA's threat to their
lives.
Sincerely,
James Brooks
